Youth Advocate and Speaker Ugo Lord to Speak at Summer Business Institute
Online, May 20, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Youth advocate and speaker Ugo Lord has been confirmed as one of the life skills trainers to speak at the Las Vegas Summer Business Institute (SBI) program for area teens on Friday, June 20th, 2014.
Known for his contributions in youth advocacy and genuine interest in helping others succeed, Ugo has made it his mission to uplift and inspire. His increasingly popular YouTube based talk show, The Ugo Lord Show, offers an honest platform where he discusses common issues and topics encountered by many young adults.
As he works with the Summer Business Institute, he hopes to connect with the youth participating in this year's program -- the same way he connected and was influenced when he attended as a high school teen.
"A summer internship is an invaluable way to gain the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to achieve your ultimate life goals," says Ugo. "SBI takes this concept to a whole new level through their life skills training program, along with several other noteworthy programs. I feel honored to be invited back to the program, but this time, as a life skills coach."
A highly successful program, the Summer Business Institute matches students with their dream internship for an 8-week period throughout the summer. The focus of the program is to give the youth opportunities to experience a corporate environment from working inside. Along with on-the-job interaction and insightful resources, the program also includes business mentoring, life skills training, financial management and a civic engagement project.
About Ugo Lord
Ugo Lord has dedicated his life towards motivating others to achieve their greatest potential. He began his motivational career as a teen advocate fighting for those who felt they didn't have a voice. At the age of 17, Ugo Lord became a Nevada Trial By Peers teen counselor representing juveniles charged with misdemeanor offenses. Without losing a single case, he went on to become a guest speaker to future peer counselors ultimately winning him the award for most favored peer counselor instructor.
Ugo Lord continued to tackle challenging issues pressing young adults through spirited radio and television debates hosted by the Las Vegas Sun Youth Forum. After being chosen by his peers to represent them, Ugo debated hot button controversial issues such as immigration reform, homelessness, teen sexuality, peer pressure, addiction and several other extraordinarily challenging issues facing today's youth.
