Young Female Motorist Wins Driver of Year Competition at Rockingham

20 year old, Rhoda Sell won the inaugural insurethebox driver of the year competition at the Rockingham race track in Northamptonshire, the fastest in Europe.

Rhoda Sell was chosen as one of fifteen finalists from the insurer's 30,000 customers, based on their motoring record.

A team of judges from the race track assessed them during tests for wet weather motoring, getting out of skids and driving a Mini Cooper S Turbo, VG Supercar and an open wheel single-seater.

Rhoda from Leicester said: "The day has been so much fun and to win this award has made the experience all the more memorable. I loved the wet grip skid driving and what I really liked about the whole experience was that the emphasis was on safety rather than speed".

Insurethebox has pioneered a new type of insurance where policyholders pay according to how far they drive, making an initial purchase of six thousand miles. A ClearBox, fitted at no extra cost, enables the company to monitor the driving patterns of each motorist. People who have driven well according to five different criteria receive up to 100 extra bonus miles per month. [Name] was among a handful of policyholders who came up as among the top in the UK.

"The day was our way of thanking our best customers and have a bit of fun at the same time as promoting the benefits of safe motoring. Rhoda has shown exceptional driving skills as well as a responsible approach to driving whilst insured by us," said Mark Grant of insurethebox

Insurethebox was launched on 14 June 2010 and is selling around five thousand policies a month.
