In addition to the culinary delights, participants will walk through 400 years of history and learn about the evolution of rich Southwestern cuisine in the quaint and picturesque capital of New Mexico, Santa Fe. The rich cultural heritage and cuisine of "The City Different" will be explored in WanderTours' Santa Fe Culinary Tour for Women from June 20 - 24, 2012. Highlighting the trip will be cooking demonstrations and an incredible dinner of Native American foods in the home of renowned chef and food photographer Lois Ellen Frank.
This intimate tour is open to just fifteen women and will take participants on an extraordinary walking tour of historical downtown with an entertaining and humorous portrayal of the city by a local expert. Other treats featured include an organic farm tour where you'll learn about agriculture in the unique terroir of the high desert, enjoy a private wine-tasting at a local winery, take cooking lessons to learn the intricacies of preparing spectacular tamales and follow a local check on a market tour where you can sample fresh breads, cheeses and regional produce and New Mexican spices. See why chocolate is a local passion in Santa Fe during our tantalizing chocolate-tastings scheduled daily at the many specialty artisanal chocolate shops.
