VinePair Announces Two Esteemed Columnists
Journalist Evan Rail and National Homebrewing Champion Mandy Naglich to Write Monthly Features on Drinks and Culture
NEW YORK, March 26, 2019 (Newswire.com) - VinePair, the largest and fastest-growing media brand in the world reaching the next generation of drinkers, proudly shares two new monthly columnists joining its impressive roster of editorial contributors.
Evan Rail, an anthologized beer and travel writer, author and contributor to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, now contributes a monthly column to VinePair. Called Free Pour, Rail’s column uncovers the unusual, often unexpected subcultures in global drinks culture. It publishes the last Wednesday of every month.
In installments of Free Pour, Rail has explored why so many of California’s top winemakers drink beer during harvest and also delved into the international community of artists using beer, cider and coffee as paint.
“Evan is an incredibly talented journalist,” Emily Saladino, VinePair’s editor in chief, said. “He has a sharp eye for what’s interesting and covers his subjects with intelligence and respect. We’re thrilled to publish this column.”
Mandy Naglich, the 2016 National Homebrew Competition Gold Medalist and an Advanced Cicerone®, will write a monthly homebrewing column for VinePair. Her first installment, “How to win a homebrew competition, according to a national champion,” published on March 20, 2019.
"Under Emily's editorial leadership, VinePair has solidified our position as the most relevant drinks publication in America," said CEO and co-founder Adam Teeter. "As a result, our readership numbers have soared to five million uniques a month and I am excited to continue growing that audience with the addition of these new columnists."
Rail and Naglich join such VinePair columnists as Jamie Goode, Celine Bossart and Aaron Goldfarb, as well as a far-reaching community of established contributors worldwide. Recipe columnists include Natalie Migliarini and Jordan Hughes.
About: VinePair was started four years ago by Adam Teeter and Josh Malin, two media veterans who were interested and passionate about wine, beer and cocktails but discouraged by an elitist culture. Since then, it’s turned into the largest and fastest-growing media brand in the world, reaching the next generation of drinkers with accessible, entertaining and inspiring content about drinks and the experiences people have with a glass in hand. Investors include Joanne Wilson and Zach Wilson (both original investors in Eater), Gary Vaynerchuk, New York Venture Partners (first investors in Pinterest) and Social Starts.
