SeeTheSouthwest.com is a website that celebrates the beauty, majesty and wonder of the American Southwest and outdoor adventure travel. Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico have been touched by magic - whether you love arid terrain, tall mountains, pueblo ruins or lakes and streams - these states have dozens of fantastic locations to get outdoors and explore. It seems impossible that four states can have so many breathtaking vistas, but it is true. See The Southwest explores these natural wonders and offers helpful hints on things to do, places to stay, where to get great food, as well as great stories about the history and heritage of the Southwest. We hope you enjoy See The Southwest and use it as a guide to help you plan your next southwest adventure.

Our stories cover major events throughout the Southwest like Baseball Spring Training in Arizona, the Running of the Santas event in Utah, and haunted hotels and locations across all four states during the month of October. We also provide articles on great outdoor adventures and must-see places, both on and off-road. In addition, the site drops hints on great places to eat, interesting and unique places to stay, great attractions and things to do.

SeetheSouthwest.com has another purpose as well - it was designed to share the love of the history and heritage of the region. By way of example, one of the stories you'll read about on SeeTheSouthwest.com is about Rupe and Prunes. Rupe Sherwood, a tough, independent man, spent his entire adult life looking for and mining the precious metals (mostly gold and silver) of Colorado near the Fairplay-Alma area. Rupe didn't care to work the hardrock mines. Instead he prefer to pan for gold. Rupe's life would have been a lonely one, since he spent much of his time in solitude in the wilderness. Luckily, Rupe wasn't alone. He had the best friend a man could have - his faithful burro, Prunes. You'll have to visit the website to learn what makes Rupe and Prunes so famous ... famous enough that you can still visit the monument to these famous partners in Fairplay, Colorado.
