Tourism Queensland and National Geographic Present a TV series abotu Ben's 'Best Job in the World'

After a worldwide search for what was called 'The Best Job in the World' Ben Southall was chosen as Tourism Queensland's Island Caretaker.

Up for grabs was a six-month contract with rent-free luxury accommodation on Hamilton Island and the opportunity to explore the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef.Ben, a 34-year-old charity fundraiser from Petersfield in Hampshire, UK, was selected from more than 34,000 people from around the globe who applied for the Best Job in the World with his adventurous spirit, energy and passion for the outdoors shining through.

Ben donned his new work uniform - a wetsuit and flippers - and kept himself busy exploring one of the great natural wonders of the world. He worked for six months exploring the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef and reporting on his travels through regular blog posts. During this time he was also filmed for a National Geographic Channel series, so you can now see how he got on during his time as Island Caretaker.

The fruits of their labour have been edited into six half-hour programs that are going to air around the world. The fly-on-the wall documentary looks at his attempts to throw a boomerang, witnesses loads of fun both on and under the water and even sees him kissing a stingray! There's some heavyweight scooter action, a little bit of surfing, sailing in some of the most beautiful waters you'll find on the planet and even eating that very Australian dish...the witchety grub. Prepare your stomachs for that one ok!
