Thomas Construction Donates New Roof for Collinsville Mother

The Collinsville PD, with the help of Thomas Construction, provide a young woman with a brand new roof.

Recently, Thomas Construction was part of a wonderful act of kindness, benefiting a Collinsville woman and her three children. In 2009, Ashley Patterson hired an independent contractor to put a new roof on her home. After paying $5,000 up front, all Ashley was left with was a new, but lumpy, mis-matched roof.

After noticing the horrible roofing job, the Collinsville Police Department issued her two citations for the faulty roof. Before this, Ashley was unaware of the horrible shape her roof was actually in. Getting this roof into shape would actually cost her double of what she initially paid the first contractor. Being a single mother of three, Ashley had no idea how she was going to pay for yet another new roof.

Sgt. Bill Berger was concerned for Ashley and the situation she was in. After meeting with the Sales Manager of Thomas Construction, Doug Miles, the two were able to come up with a plan. Steve Townzen, president of Thomas Construction, was made aware of Ashley's dilemma and agreed to provide her with a brand new roof!

Ashley has been so thankful to everyone involved in making this happen. The people at Thomas have been extremely excited to be a part of this good deed.
