“The Ninth Passage,” while inspired by real events, is a work of fiction that follows Alec Driver and the relationship he begins with his student Tracy Ashbury. It’s soon discovered and people in their small community begin taking sides. An incident with another student almost leads to Alec’s firing, but he keeps his position and eventually goes on to marry Tracy.
