Los Angeles, CA, March 22, 2016 (Newswire.com) - The Global Doo Wop Coalition presents The Doo Wop Music Hall of Fame Induction Gala at the historical Globe Theater on April 23, 2016. The 2016 Inductees are Grammy nominees, The Lettermen - When I Fall in Love and Hurts So Bad, The Angels - My Boyfriend’s Back and Thank You and Goodnight, The Coasters - Yakety Yak and Charlie Brown and The Penguins - Earth Angel. In addition, there will be a memorial tribute to the late Wally Roker of The Heartbeats - A Thousand Miles Away and a special on-stage appearance by the founding member of The Lettermen, Tony Butala.
Looking back over his career Butala said he considered himself very lucky. "If I hadn't gone to California, I would have probably stayed in Sharon, Pa., went to work at the steel mill, married my old girlfriend and had 10 kids".
