The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group (an enterprise of Bharat Hotels Ltd) known as India's largest privately owned hotel company and also the fastest growing hospitality chain, today announced the rebranding of its Mumbai property as The Lalit Mumbai. With this move, the company ends its franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotel Group. On November 19, 2008 Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson & Managing Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group charted a highly successful brand change for the company. All luxury hotels of the Group today fly "THE LALIT" flag under The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, as a tribute to the company's Founder Chairman Mr. Lalit Suri.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Suri said, "We have come a long way since birth of 'The Lalit' in 2008. Last year, we rebranded our Goa property as The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort, Goa. Soon, we will be launching our mid-segment hotel under the brand 'The Lalit Traveller'. With 9 operational hotels and 7 to open shortly, The Group has shown rapid growth. Our strength lies in the fact that we own, manage and operate each of our properties."

"The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group believes in developing destinations, and not just hotels. It is the people and the environment of the destinations that account for the success of our hotels. We have been organizing The Lalit Suri Polo at Drass (the second coldest habitat in the world) consecutively since past 3 years; introduced Beach Polo for the first time in Goa; organized memorable art and cultural festivals in Khajuraho and Bekal (Kerala) & the first ever longest Shikara race in the serene surroundings of Dal Lake in Kashmir. This year we have also added two unique initiatives to our calendar - The Lalit Chaupal for the real stakeholders of tourism and The Lalit Ice Hockey at Leh to promote the traditional sport in the region.
