Ted Crutchfield's Book, Published Posthumously, 'In the Cool of the Evening I Walked With Jesus' is an Illuminating Journey of Cleophas and Mary Together With Jesus of Nazareth

Recent release 'In the Cool of the Evening I Walked with Jesus' from the late author Ted Crutchfield is a captivating story in the town of Emmaus that follows Cleophas and Mary as they listen to what Jesus has to say and hear from Him encouraging words about not giving their hopes up and put their faith into the Lord.

Ted Crutchfield was an author who spent more than forty years of his life in the field of science and became a youth and adult Bible study teacher after retirement. He completed his book, “In the Cool of the Evening I Walked with Jesus”: a fascinating account that takes one back to AD 33 in the small town of Emmaus where Cleophas and Mary met Jesus who told the couple truths about Moses, the prophets and psalms, the Scriptures, and Christ the Messiah.

Ted wrote, “For me, the most fascinating and informative journey back in history would be AD 33, along an old dirt road winding toward the small unremarkable town by the name of Emmaus, nearly seven miles northeast of Jerusalem. Journey with me as we investigate the imagined words of Jesus of Nazareth as he spoke to Cleophas and Mary, encouraging them not to give up hope because the Messiah was, after all, predetermined to suffer and be a sacrifice according to the prophecies of their Torah! Jesus says to us, as he said to that couple, ‘How foolish you are and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah, the Christ, have to suffer thus before entering into His glory?’ (Luke 24:25–26). Jesus began with Moses (the author of the first five books of Scripture, the Pentateuch), then followed with all the prophets and psalms, enlightening the couple about the passages throughout the Scriptures that refer to Christ—the Messiah! This is where we will spend the remaining chapters or vignettes of In the Cool of the Evening I Walked with Jesus.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Ted Crutchfield’s book was published by his family and is a stirring read that will draw the readers into the words of Jesus and be enlightened with the prophecies and of God’s power, and as well as be encouraged with the hope that resonates with His light.

This story will capture the hearts of many just as Jesus touched the hearts of Cleophas and Mary.
