Susan Cowsill To Record For Goose Creek Live Collection
Online, September 26, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Multimedia music production company Goose Creek Music, of Purcellville, Virginia, is excited to announce a live-audience recording session of award-winning New Orleans singer/songwriter Susan Cowsill and her band. The performance will be at 6:30pm on September 27, 2011 in the Nord Ty Tracy Theatre, Gallier Hall, New Orleans. The concert is being produced in conjunction with the Music Business Conference hosted by Cutting Edge, CE, and conference attendees are welcome to attend, free of charge. The recording will become part of the Goose Creek Live catalog of live performance recordings by important and rising Americana musicians.
Susan Cowsill first entered the pop-culture spotlight at the age of eight, as the youngest member of the '60's musical family The Cowsills. She re-emerged as a vocalist and songwriter of remarkable depth and insight in adulthood, as a member of the beloved alt-op supergroup the Continental Drifters. In 2005, Susan made an inspiring solo debut with her album "Just Believe It". Susan's latest release "Lighthouse" includes guest appearances by her brothers Bob, Paul, and John Cowsill, and a performance of "River of Love" written by her late brother Barry Cowsill. The album also includes "Crescent City Sneaux", a song written by Susan, which has achieved recognition as an anthem for survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
The Goose Creek Live performance will feature Susan with several of her frequent musical collaborators, including drummer and husband Russ Broussard. The band will perform a selection of material from Susan's long and varied career, including several cuts from the Lighthouse album.
