Summer Finally Starts in London

London is the place to be this summer, regardless of the weather! The capital is playing host to a plethora of festivals catering to all tastes.

Has summer started in London? With all the drab weather you could be forgiven for just lounging around in your swanky London hotel and drinking at the bar. Fear not! Over the next month London has an eclectic mix of festivals on offer, which cater for all tastes and audiences. Whatever you're looking for, be it listening to some of your favourite bands, or just soaking up London's arts and cultural delights, London's festivals during the next month will get your summer well and truly under way.

So, what events are on in the capital over the next coming months?

For the music lovers out there, this Saturday 6th August sees the return of Field Day to East London. With its origins as a village fete, this brilliant day festival now attracts thousands to Victoria Park. You can expect to be entertained by live music from an array of acts; with sets from small folk bands right up to superstar DJs.

Children can also capitalise on London's summer festivals at the UK's only kid-centric festival, Lollibop on the 5th to 7th August! Rastamouse, Peppa Pig, story-telling and face-painting will ensure your child has a day out to remember.
Culture vultures, get yourself down to The Apple Cart Festival happening this Sunday 7th August. Run by the same folks that bought you Field Day, you can enjoy comedy, arts, cabaret and music amongst other treats.

Lastly, wipe away those September blues this year in the form of The Mayor's Thames Festival on the 10th and 11th of September. Music, drink, food and dancing can be enjoyed along the River Thames as the city showcases the creativity of the capital for the 15th year in a row.
