Steven Kinne Team Sponsors Golf Tournament to Benefit Young Life Organization

SUGAR LAND, Texas, April 24, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Earlier this month, Steven Kinne and his realty company, The Kinne Group, sponsored a golf tournament for a great cause. The event took place on Monday, April 9 at Riverbend Country Club.

The 18th Annual Golf Tournament raised over $20,000 to support the local chapters of Young Life in Fort Bend. The Kinne Group has been either the title sponsor or partner sponsor of the event for the past five years, and are truly committed to the organization.

The funds gathered from the event go to support the local operating budget, which is typically in the range of $20,000 and $25,000. Also, the money provides camp scholarships for children in need. The earnings from the tournament help these essential functions of the organization happen.

The tournament format played a regular four-person scramble. The Kinne Group participated as a team, featuring Steven Kinne, Ryan Adams, Joe Cavanaugh and Doug Tigtig, Steve's partner agents. The day included golf at one of the area's finest private country clubs, Riverbend Country Club. Also, other individual competitions took place, closest to the pin and long drive challenges. Lunch and dinner were provided for all participants throughout the day. There were awards, socializing and more, but the true goal of the day was all about Young Life and their mission.

Even though Young Life is especially for kids to learn about and know Jesus; parents and other adults in the community are essential to the organization. Young Life leaders work with all ages of kids, from middle school, high school, college, military, teen moms, special needs, and small towns.

Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways, not just through the annual golf tournament. They can become a volunteer leader or committee member. Also, they can attend a Young Life fundraising event or host a Young Life gathering or by just spreading the word about the group. The mission of Young Life has grown into introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.

The Fort Bend chapter of Young Life started in 1992. The Ministry is in four middle schools (Reading, Baines, Fort Settlement, and Briscoe), six high schools (George Ranch, Dulles, Clements, Ridge Points, Travis, and Fort Bend Christian). YoungLives, which helps teen moms, benefit from the organization. Young Life reaches 1,500 kids annually, and the impact becomes felt by thousands of families.

Young Life doesn't start with a program. It begins with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them on a regular basis; on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship.

Kids' lives have become dramatically impacted when caring adults come alongside them, sharing God's love with them on a regular basis. Because their Young Life leader believes in them, they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning, and purpose.

Young Life is creating a difference in the lives of kids around the world because they become backed by adults who care about kids in their area. For every talented Young Life staff person or adult who donates to the group, there is a staff of dedicated leaders who work right with the kids.

In each chapter, the local "committee," comprised of parents, Young Life alumni and civic leaders, provides a foundation of financial, administrative and moral care for the local Young Life team.

Because the golf tournament has taken place for over 18 years, thousands of dollars have become available for Young Life. As long as the event keeps taking place, Steven Kinne and his group will be a part of the tournament.
