Souter Investments has launched a new intercity express coach business in Poland serving the country's biggest cities and four European capitals.
Online, July 15, 2011 (Newswire.com) - PolskiBus.com, part of Souter Holdings Poland, will offer fast, cheap and comfortable intercity travel that can be booked online at www.PolskiBus.com
Eight routes will serve Poland's biggest cities as well as Berlin, Bratislava, Prague and Vienna from a hub in Warsaw.
State of the art, air-conditioned coaches will offer passengers express intercity travel across Poland and Central Europe. Fares will start from just 1 zloty plus 1 zloty booking fee and include free Wi-Fi access, luxury leather seats and a generous luggage allowance, with no hidden charges.
The eight PolskiBus.com services will link 16 Polish cities and four other European capital cities - Berlin, Bratislava, Prague and Vienna - from a hub in Warsaw. The new business will create around 100 new jobs across Poland.
Launching PolskiBus.com, Roger Bowker, Chief Executive of Souter Holdings Poland, said: "PolskiBus.com will appeal to a wide variety of people, business professionals, students, families and the retired. We think passengers will be attracted not only to PolskiBus.com's low fares but also by our comfortable, convenient and reliable services and, of course the free Wi-Fi."
Explaining why Souter Investments is entering the Polish market, Andy Macfie, Chief Executive of Souter Investments, said: "Poland is a market we have been monitoring for some time and we have been attracted by its high growth economy, strong work ethic and its increasingly affluent population.
"PolskiBus.com is our second deal in Poland, following our recent investment in the fast growing Pure Poland health and fitness business."
PolskiBus.com adds to Souter Investments' growing portfolio of transport and transport-related assets which include majority stakes in the Fullers Group, Mana Coach Holdings and Howick and Eastern Bus businesses in New Zealand and investments in Alexander Dennis, the UK's leading bus manufacturer and bio-fuel producer Argent Energy.
Andy Macfie added: "PoskiBus.com is an example of an investment where our transport expertise, combined with excellent local management and our pool of experienced transport consultants can add significant value. The model is based on successful and fast growing transport businesses operating in the UK, USA and Canada, adapted for the Polish market."
In addition to PoskiBus.com, Souter Investments is part of a consortium which recently agreed to acquire Istanbul Deniz Otobuslen A.S. ("IDO"), the Istanbul ferry business operating 52 vessels and carrying in excess of 50 million passengers per annum across the Sea of Marmara.
Piotr Bezulski, Managing Director of PolskiBus.com said: "We are very excited about the impact PolskiBus.com can have in Poland. It is so easy to use - our website is simple and secure and you can now book intercity coach travel in the same way we all book our flights and holidays."
The 14.5 metre luxury PolskiBus.com coaches, which can carry 70 passengers each, are brand new and built to the very latest European standards. They are equipped with reclining leather seats, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, in-seat charging points for laptops and mobile phones and toilet facilities.
