An increase in online giftware sales thanks to a new social media and email marketing strategy has been announced today by Irish artist Graham Knuttel.
A Facebook page with interactive e-commerce enabled features to establish a strong social media presence coupled with a monthly email newsletter, Knuttel's sales have enjoyed a considerable boost.
A sign up box on Facebook was created, which automatically brought new contacts to the account with the aid of the Newsweaver account. The new giftware line which features images of Knuttel's most popular pieces also enticed contacts to the site by offering competitions and discounts exclusive to subscribers. Newsweaver created a dynamic newsletter template to showcase Knuttel's work which attracted even more customers.

Niall Newman of Social Media Zen who managed the social media strategy said "regularly posts on Knuttel's Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages about the newsletter generate at least 30-40 new subscribers within an hour of each post; we also find that 80% of our prospect list growth happens through Knuttel's social media outlets".

The newsletter software has been at the heart of the sales increase. The combination of social media and email or newsletter marketing has resulted in the opens and clicks reaching above industry average as well as consistently staying within the 60-70% range for opens and 40% for clicks from opens. Online sales have been generated directly from each mailing. This proves just how effective social media and email marketing can be when used correctly.
Niall Newman understands the importance of ezine marketing and says "Email and social media have proven to complement each other very well. Social networks are fantastic for building a fan base; but the money is definitely in our email mailing list".
