SAFER Systems® Announces SAFER One™
Westlake Village, CA, February 15, 2017 (Newswire.com) - SAFER Systems® announced today the general availability of its new real-time, cloud-based chemical detection and emergency response platform - SAFER One™ - ushering in a new ERA for the company and its customers.
"SAFER One™ is a best-in-breed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) that is tailor-made to meet the needs of the AgChem, PetroChem, upstream, downstream, and general chemical processing facilities alike, and is hosted on the industry’s top rated Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)1 Platform - Amazon Web Services (AWS). We’ve also integrated our SAFER One™ platform with Google Maps® and SAFER’s patented plume and dispersion modeling software. This is great news for those dealing with hazardous materials at plants or facilities on Risk Management Programs overseen by the EPA,” said Eric Fishman, President of SAFER Systems®. “Our goal with SAFER One™ was always to provide the most secure, scalable, and reliable integrated solution for our customers on a single Platform – enabling what we call a ‘Smart Facility™’- and I think we’ve done that.”
Our goal with SAFER One™ was always to provide the most secure, scalable, and reliable integrated solution for our customers on a single Platform - enabling what we call a 'Smart Facility™'- and I think we've done that.
Eric Fishman, President
SAFER Systems® views the new SAFER One™ platform as a next-generation integration and collaboration solution for fixed facilities, enabling real-time decision support and information sharing. For example, SAFER One™ has integration into many common chemical sensors and safety systems, such as open-path gas sensors, industrial weather stations, lightning detection, as well as PI historian, OPC server technologies.
The real-time data from these systems and sensors can trigger alerts and notifications in SAFER One™, based on predefined limits or thresholds. Site safety personnel can push email notifications and eventually mobile alerts to anyone at a site, and possibly in danger, about things like a chemical incident or adverse weather conditions.
“Enabling collaboration and sharing is another goal for our new platform,” said Fishman, adding, “now HazMat Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) or site safety managers can get real-time data and chemical incident information on the fly with any device with a browser and an Internet connection, so the system is no longer tethered to PCs or end-points at desks or Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs).”
For example, an AreaRAE® can be deployed downrange with first responders or mutual aid response teams, which can then transmit data in real-time to SAFER One™ and render updated readings and downwind plume dispersion predictions. Plumes can be updated, pushed by email to responders, and evacuation plans revised based on changes in chemical concentrations or wind direction.
Fishman concluded, “This is a very exciting time for us as we see the dedication to our vision bringing real, tangible value for our customers. At the same time, it is a bitter-sweet moment since our legacy SAFER Real-Time® product will sunset at the end of 2017. However, our customers love what they’ve seen from SAFER One™ and we continue to receive unanimously positive feedback - because it’s a fantastic customer experience. This is just the ground floor for our new Platform.”
