Robomatter Incorporated K-12 STEM Curriculum and Teacher Professional Development to Be Used Across Malaysia

A partnership between CM Asia Learning and Tunku Abdul Rahman University (TAR UC) will bring Robomatter STEM Curriculum and Training to thousands of students and teachers throughout Malaysia.

CM Asia Learning Pte Ltd (CM Asia), a Singapore-based distributor of Robomatter’s K-12 STEM Robotics and STEM Computer Science curriculum in Asia Pacific, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) on 18 February 2016. The MoU will make Robomatter’s research-based STEM curriculum and teacher professional development programs available to thousands of students and teachers across Malaysia.

The MoU signing was officiated by Malaysia’s Minister of Transport and TAR UC Chairman of the Board of Governors, YB DatoSri Liow Tiong Lai, and was attended by guests including Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Education II and YB Senator Tuan Chong Sin Woon,   

“Our children cannot remain as just users of technology because they are capable of so much more. We need to nurture youths that will be creators,” YB DatoSri Liow said in his speech which highlighted Malaysia’s goal of getting 60% its youth pursue STEM education and careers.

"In today’s digital world, we find STEM in every field – Medical, Science, Entertainment, Transport, Finance and even production of our food.” said Yeoh Cheng Poh, CEO of CM Asia Learning. “STEM is necessary for the growth of the economy, and  for the individual to remain competitive. This partnership will help us bring top-notched STEM programs closer to the heart of the local schools in Malaysia."
