Riverside County's New Heroes: Bosco Legal Services Employees Create and Donate Masks to Help Prevent Coronavirus (COVID-19)
RIVERSIDE, Calif., April 13, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Bosco Legal Services is an essential business that focuses on social media legal investigations and these days, its steadfast employees have been going beyond their normal business duties by creating fabric masks to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. Vice President of Bosco Legal Services Joseph Jones decided to retain Bosco employees at their regular wages to work on the masks versus laying them off. The company is currently employing about 15 people to work on this significant project.
Many businesses are donating masks and other materials, but Bosco is unique in that it is the only legal services company in Riverside County that built a tried-and-true system to donate all the fabric masks it has produced.
“It started with a few employees, who then taught others, and together they worked out an assembly-line-style system to make fabric masks faster than if they were working on them individually,” said Jones.
The staff works on two separate floors of the company’s main office in Riverside. They stay at least six feet apart to ensure safe social distancing protocols and wear masks during production as well. The group creates fabric masks and sanitizes them before sealing them in plastic bags. The masks are then donated to elder care facilities such as North American Healthcare.
The number of masks made per day grew quickly when more employees joined this special task force. At first, there were 30 masks, then 75, then 100. Soon enough, Jones expects the staff to be able to produce as much as 150 to 200 masks per day “because we’re working together and making a system out of it. We can make a lot of masks.”
