Rich Korb's New Book, "Tales of a Major League Groundskeeper" is a Fascinating Work About the Riveting Role of League Groundskeepers in the Game.

Recent release "Tales of a Major League Groundskeeper" from Covenant Books author Rich Korb is a delightful book about being involved with Major League Baseball as a groundskeeper—his dream that came true—and the purpose of groundskeepers during the game.

Rich Korb, a lover of sports who has been a junior high and high school coach, has completed his new book, “Tales of a Major League Groundskeeper”:  an inspiring book about his experiences of being a major league groundskeeper and the joy he has felt while living that dream.

Korb recalls, “One of the benefits of being a groundskeeper is obtaining memorabilia from players. Jack Perconte and I were about the same size, so I asked him for a pair of his shoes. At the time, it was customary among the grounds crew to ask players for their shoes because the shoes matched our uniforms. Most players had shoe endorsements, and getting shoes was not a problem.

On this particular night, I was standing in the third baseline dugout door visiting with the head of the grounds crew. Jack was batting, and he batted left-handed. I knew that any checked swing or foul ball had the potential to end up in the dugout, so I moved my body just behind the dugout door. Unfortunately, I left my right foot sticking out into the doorway opening when all of a sudden, I felt this sharp pain shoot up my leg, the same feeling you get when you break a bone. Before I could sit down, the team trainer had left his post on the bench and was attending to my foot. When he pulled down my sock, my ankle had already swollen, and the image of the baseball laces was imprinted on my ankle. Jack had checked his swing while catching a piece of the ball and sent it like a bullet right into my ankle.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Rich Korb’s new book is a profound work that contains his personal accounts on joining a major league team, showing the importance of groundskeepers and how they can change a game’s outcome.

Korb’s book challenges everyone to catch their dreams and turn them into reality.
