Renowned Master Chef Jerry Bastiaan Visited Velassaru

Velassaru Maldives (http://www.velassaru.com/) was proud to host the famous Two Michelin Starred Chef, Jerry Bastiaan. Coming from Holland, Jerry, has worked in a number of Michelin Starred restaurants. In 2003 he became Executive Chef at the 5 star deluxe Grand Hotel KarelV. It was in their Gastronomic Grand Restaurant where Jerry was awarded his First Michelin Star. He later moved to the United Arab Emirates as the Executive Chef de Cuisine of the Capital Club which made him the only Two Michelin Starred chef who was based in Dubai. In 2010 he moved to Baku, Azerbaijan, where he is currently Chief Concept Developer for Pasha Inshaat, one of the country's leading companies. Jerry has developed and opened 12 award-winning restaurants in Baku with another 7 public and 3 governmental projects to open this year.

Jerry held a Master Class cooking demonstration followed by a 'Chef's Table' dinner on June 13th.
The demonstration took place at Velassaru's Sand Restaurant (http://www.velassaru.com/indulge-sand.html) and the dinner at fine dining "Etesian" restaurant. The demonstration menu as well as the Masterclass dinner consisted of simple but nonetheless creative dishes. It was a night of culinary fun!
