Project IMPACT USA Launches "180°Challenge"
Founder Urges Churches and Community Leaders to Help "Turn It Around"

(LOS ANGELES) - Project IMPACT USA has left an indelible mark on the lives of thousands of inner-city youth and families threatened by violence. While many organizations merely talk about serving the needs of the poor, Project IMPACT has served communities across the country faithfully for 27 years, rescuing youth from gangs, drugs, and violence. Now, Project IMPACT needs the help of the community and has initiated the '180° Challenge - Turning It Around' campaign to raise $180,000 within the next two-months.

"The work of Project IMPACT remains a real passion for Mary and me," states co-founder Matt Harris. "We have set a goal to raise $180,000. We believe that we can all do something about this problem of youth and domestic violence. We believe that through the 180° Challenge we can truly turn it around!"

According to the Centers for Disease Control, approximately 650,843 young people were treated for nonfatal injuries sustained from assaults. Nearly one in four teens in the United States report having easy access to guns at home, asserts the National Youth Violence Prevention Center. This past year, Project IMPACT countered these statistics by affecting more than 1,800 youth, rescuing them from gangs, drugs and violence - encouraging education and intervening in 911 domestic violence calls.

Harris is looking for 180 partners to donate or pledge $1,000 towards the organization, and include Project IMPACT in their outreach giving. "These funds will be used to help us maintain our current funding, and to support our Mission Empowerment program that helps churches reach youth and families threatened by violence," Harris explains. "We encourage more churches to get involved and make a difference."
