Physical Rehabilitation Network (PRN), announced their newest physical and hand therapy clinic to open under the California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy (Cal Rehab) brand. The West Covina clinic, as it will be known, is located at 1632 Puente Ave, Baldwin Park, CA, only a half mile away from Baldwin Park Kaiser Hospital and four miles from City of Industry Kaiser Medical Center. The location will include California Hand Therapy, a division of Cal Rehab dedicated to the skilled treatment of upper extremities. This marks the third start up clinic for PRN in less than two months and the 13th clinic under the Cal Rehab brand.

Directing the facility will be Isabel Hui, DPT, Cert. MDT, who is bilingual (English & Spanish) and certified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. A graduate from Chapman University, Isabel has practiced in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings giving her the skills to work with a wide range of patients and diagnoses. Joining her, full-time, is occupational therapist, Alexis Novak, ORT/L, who specializes in hand therapy and is certified in ASTYM – a soft-tissue mobilization technique specifically created to treat sports injuries and cumulative trauma.

“Our highly-trained physical and occupational therapists strive to provide remarkable outcomes for all patients through individualized and comprehensive care,” commented California Hand Therapy Founder, Ed Detels, OTR/L, CHT. “We look forward to supplying the Baldwin Park community with the best possible physical and hand therapy services in the area.”

The West Covina facility will feature a variety of physical therapy services including orthopedic rehabilitation, injury prevention programs, balance and vestibular training, and worker’s compensation services. The hand therapy program will be top-notch including comprehensive evaluations, cutting-edge equipment, manual therapy and custom splinting by an experience, certified hand therapist.

“We are proud of our long-standing partnerships with Ed and the teams at Cal Rehab and California Hand Therapy, and for their dedication to the rehabilitation field,” stated Bruce McDaniel, CEO of PRN. “As an organization, we’re committed to providing superior patient care and access to the community. This partnership allows us to further advance these goals in Orange County.”
