“The approach that Lee Hughes and the NewLight Management team brought to Pauls Valley General Hospital (PVGH) guided us through the bankruptcy process,” City Councilman Patrick Grimmett said. “When we hired NewLight our mayor said in the kickoff meeting that this was our Hail Mary and that we had two options, we either chained up the facility and closed it for good or we worked hard and found an avenue that led to PVGH successfully exiting bankruptcy while also placing the facility on the road to long-term sustainability. After many meetings and hours of hard work NewLight presented us with a plan that they felt would accomplish the latter of the options and we voted to allow that plan to be executed. The result is we are now out of bankruptcy and we can focus on the future of PVGH. The work is far from over but we are happy to close this chapter in the life of PVGH and begin focusing on more long-term needs to position PVGH for success.”
Although the financial position of Pauls Valley Oklahoma is actively stabilizing, there is still much work needed to be done to sustain long-term viability; but the future is bright.
With new medical services and improvements to medical facilities underway, Pauls Valley Oklahoma is another testament to the resilience of small rural hospitals and their commitment to providing their communities the medical services and support they need.
