Holistic nutritionist and certified cancer coach Michelle Thibodeau will offer an online webinar titled "9 Things Your Onocologist Won't Tell You" on May 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET designed to provide positive information for anyone living with cancer and those in post treatment.

"Being informed is being empowered," said Thibodeau who coaches others through cancer treatments and recovery and in preventative and alternative care. She is trained in and specializes in cancer nutrition therapy through her holistic therapy center, NuHealings Nutrition.

"As a holistic nutritionist you approach the whole body — that means the physical body and the mind and soul," said Thibodeau, who has experienced the impact of cancer first-hand. After her firefighter husband became ill with brain cancer, she saw the side effects that chemo and radiation have on the body and determined to support his treatments with alternative medicine, supplements and nutritional corrections.

Since her husband passed away in 2006, Michelle has devoted her life to helping others prevent, treat and recover from chronic disease through nutrition and lifestyle changes. She is a Certified Professional Cancer Coach serving as the physician's partner in overcoming cancer. "We can help you to manage the new challenges you face and regain a sense of control in your life," she said. "Through NuHealings' highly specialized program, you will gain the support and education you need to encourage your body into remission and reduce the side effects of your cancer treatment."

She is a member of the National Association of Professional Cancer Coaches(NAPCC) which unites professionally trained cancer coaches with men and women who want an evidence-based cancer prevention or recovery program. NAPCC coaches are registered and licensed health care professionals such as medical doctors, nurses and pharmacists.

The research Thibodeau conducted convinced her to pursue studies to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Professional Cancer Coach to help others reach optimal health and overcome illness caused through nutritional deficiencies and imbalances in essential nutrients. As a registered Holistic Nutritionist, her principal function is to educate individuals and groups about the benefits and health impact of optimal nutrition.

In her webinar Thibodeau will share critical information about things an oncologist may not tell a cancer patient. "There's time to make safe decisions about your treatment process. Often times patients feel rushed to make a decision or into having surgery as soon as they are diagnosed, but there is time ; it often takes cancer years to show signs to be diagnosed" she said. "The webinar will also focus on certain things about specific treatments such as pre-surgical options for post-surgical recovery.

Her online session also will cover how to arrange specialized biopsy testing to determine which chemotherapy will work best for your particular cancer type. This is not done in hospitals but rather only two very specialized labs in North America.
