Nearly Impossible: The Conference For People Who Make And Sell Physical Products

"Don't undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible." — Edwin Land

On November 7th and 8th makers and small business entrepreneurs will gather in Brooklyn, NY to tackle the "Nearly Impossible" - that is the making and selling of physical products.

Primarily for physical goods companies, the two-day conference is designed to bring together a community of makers willing to share best practices on problems faced by small consumer products companies. From developing a wholesale catalog to choosing an e-commerce based fulfillment strategy to handling massive growth, Nearly Impossible is focusing on the stories of how many companies have tackled their biggest hurdles and the tools they have used to make even the biggest challenges more possible.

The conference is the creation of Rusty Meadows who helped start Tattly, the designy temporary tattoo company based in Brooklyn. While working to grow Tattly, Rusty noticed that there are "few resources for companies making and selling physical goods" and that "sometimes it feels like every step of the way we unnecessarily end up figuring out our own solutions to these problems."

Nearly Impossible is out to change all that by building a community of exceptional people centered around teaching and learning in order to build better companies. "Each event at the conference is an opportunity to get closer to the people who have found ways to crack even the toughest problems".

The first day of the event, held at Brooklyn's intimate 501 Union event space, will feature lecture style talks from 12 entrepreneurs including Harley Finkelstein, COO of Shopify; Amol Sarva, Co-Founder Virgin Mobile & Peek; Anna Bond, Founder of Rifle Paper Co.; and Rachel Shechtman, Founder of Story.

After the first full day of talks and networking, the attention will shift to over half a dozen problem-focused workshops led by the expertise of nearly 20+ knowledgeable makers. Attendees are encouraged to bring their business problems, and the goal is for them to leave having solved at least one of them. Workshops will include everything from a hands on packaging lab led by Kickstarter record breakers to classes on PR, email marketing, and more.

Tickets are $295 for the full two-day conference. Small business owners and entrepreneurs interested in attending should sign up at nearlyimpossible.org
