Monumental Management, Inc. Focuses on Networking and Travel

The Monumental Management, Inc. team just returned from a quarterly meeting in Texas. The interactive firm's marketing managers reported that everyone was enthusiastic about their networking success and looks forward to more travel.

“Many companies today have made travel a luxury expense,” said Krenda, Monumental Management, Inc.’s director of operations. “As a result, many new associates here are surprised to learn of all the opportunities we have to travel as a team and experience new things together.”

Krenda stated that in addition to the quarterly meeting, the Monumental Management, Inc. team will also attend leadership meetings and travel to different regions for cross-training events. “We’re also planning to send our top performers to the annual rest and relaxation retreat,” she shared. “This is an event all associates vie for and it’s a great time. Not only do we have fun, but we enjoy the company of industry leaders and learn from their collective wisdom.”

"I firmly believe travel is a great investment,"

“I firmly believe travel is a great investment,” Krenda added. “First, we’re gaining information we can apply to make our jobs better. Second, we meet so many people from different regions. I love when we get to exchange ideas and pick up nifty tips. Finally, we have this unique chance to bond with each other as a team. Being in a different place together changes the dynamics. We see each other in a different light by sharing a unique experience. It all makes for a stronger team. I see a lot of growth in our Monumental Management, Inc. team just from this last trip.”

Monumental Management, Inc. Managers Discuss Tips for Network Success

Krenda stressed that networking opportunities are high on the Monumental Management, Inc. team’s agenda. “We’re constantly discussing how to make the most of networking opportunities,” she added. “This includes targeted networking. Like with our marketing approach, we’ve come to learn that the more effort placed on specific individuals or groups of individuals the better. This is far more effective than trying to meet and greet everyone.”

“The biggest thing to remember about networking is that you want to attain quality connections,” she said. “These are people you can build strong relationships with in the long run. If you just run around collecting business cards, that’s what you’ll end up with – a lot of business cards that are meaningless. Focus on one or two really good contacts and you’ll be building a foundation for a strong professional network that can last your entire career.”

As Krenda concluded, she observed that networking is a skill that requires practice. “It’s an art form, no doubt,” she said. “However, if you hone it carefully, it will be one of the most useful skills you’ll ever master.”
