Mobile Marketing the Key in 2014
Online, January 15, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Mobile friendly marketing is the key to dominating digital marketing in 2014, according to experts at One2One Digital. With numbers of mobile users across email and websites increasing on a year by year basis, it is becoming more and more important for businesses to be ahead of the curve.
One2One spokesperson Ed Jemson says that it is a big year for mobile marketing: "It's hard to ignore the popularity of the strength of mobiles across many of the different disciplines, the percentage of people reading websites and emails on mobile devices is no longer a percentage you can ignore."Indeed, the data backs the claims up. In 2012, mobile devices accounted for 30% of all web traffic, and predictions believe that number could rise as high as 50%. On emails, just under 30% of all emails are opened on mobile devices. Ed explains why this is an issue:"Your average website that was made before a few years ago won't be built with mobile devices in mind. Mobile devices can load them, but they can only display it at full desktop size. Data suggests that people who find a website on a mobile device that isn't mobile friendly generally don't stick around long".
The data steps beyond just websites and emails too. New updates to Google's search engine suggest that websites that are not mobile compatible will begin to lose traction with them as the number of mobile searches rise. Also, Google's increasing focus on providing visitors with local results is stepping up the need for sites to be mobile friendly so people can get better news on the move.
Ed says that now is the time to act to get your business mobile ready: "Everywhere you turn mobile is becoming hugely important. Social media, SEO, email marketing, websites; everything. Responsive design will soon become an industry norm, as brands look for an almost one size fits all approach to marketing. Here at One2One Digital we can provide that".
