"Metal Defender MD-6, MD-12 are currently undergoing the Stringent NIJ testing standards."
Jon Formella, VP of Sales Metal Defender
The Development Designation by DHS Safety Act is proof of Metal Defender's technology. The technology uses low frequency electromagnetic fields to aid in detecting metal-containing threat objects on screened individuals. The technology makes detections by measuring disturbances in the generated electromagnetic fields due to the presence of metal. In the event of a detection, the technology provides a visual and/or audible alarm.
"We are continuing to advance our technology," stated Jon Formella VP of Sales. "Our MD-6, MD-12 are currently undergoing the stringent NIJ testing standards. When completed we will be able to submit Metal Defender technology for DHS Safety ACT Certification."
NIJ (National Institute for Justice) publishes equipment standards that specifically address the needs of law enforcement, corrections and other criminal justice agencies.
These types of tests, approvals and certifications demonstrates Metal Defender's commitment to product quality, safety and reliability.
Metal Defender Headquarters are located in Minooka Illinois and have been providing public safety equipment and technology since 2004.
