Maggie Acerra Announces Her Candidacy For Santee City Council

Online, August 27, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Maggie Acerra announces her candidacy for Santee's City Council in the November 2012 election.

"As candidate for the Santee City Council, I'm committed to being a representative with an approach that is grounded in common sense and an awareness of the concerns facing our city. Our representatives shouldn't need a reminder that it is the citizens they serve"

A Santee resident since 1989, Acerra was elected to serve on the Republican Central Committee in the 2010 election, and also founded the Santee / East County TEA Party Group. She is currently the Organizer of the San Diego County TEA Party Forum.

Acerra is a member of the San Diego County Taxpayer's Association (SDCTA) and recently completed the SDCTA Pension Reform Certification program. When the Santee Republican Women Federated (RWF) group reorganized, she became a member, and soon found herself working with many other concerned women from Santee and the surrounding East County area. She was elected the group's Treasurer in 2011.

"The motivating factor behind my decision to run for Santee's City Council stems from listening to the residents and business owners. They are upset and worried by the lack of awareness and interest in their opinions, on issues affecting their future and quality of life, currently being displayed by the city's long term representatives at City Hall."
