Six months ago, the Buttercup Bus company saved a VW camper from the graveyard, and went through the long and expensive process of restoring it (with help from their amazing, Croydon based mechanics, otherwise known as their knights in shining armour!)
The campervan needed major reconstructive surgery, including a new front face panel and doors, imported all the way from the dry state of California. (Where parts come with little rust). No expense was spared, as this vehicle slowly underwent a change from ugly duckling to beautiful swan. The icing on the cake was a gorgeous pale yellow and white paint job to replace the patchwork of maroon, orange, black and gungey green, which covered her mismatch of former body parts!
This new campervan just needs her electrics and interior finishing. She is even having a bespoke cabinet made by a carpenter in Dorset. She should be ready to grace the roads in the spring. Being able to kit her out with some new accessories by winning this competition would be the icing on the cake!
