Lionel Trains Rolling Into Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn., October 23, 2023 (Newswire.com) - Lionel, the iconic model train manufacturer, invites the community to attend a special ribbon-cutting event at its new Opry Mills store on Friday, October 27, at 10 a.m.
The new Nashville, Tenn. location is only the second store operated by Lionel. The first is the company's flagship store, which opened five years ago in Concord, N.C.
"Nashville has a long heritage of railroading and a growing excitement around racing that made sense to us when considering locations for our second Lionel retail store," said Lionel CEO Howard Hitchcock. "Our team is looking forward to becoming more and more a part of the community here, and the welcome we've received so far has been phenomenal."
The Opry Mills Lionel store has more than 3,000 square feet of Lionel trains, tracks, and accessories and features decorated, running train displays. There is also a themed NASCAR section for racing die-cast collectors that showcases the company's popular Lionel Racing and NASCAR Authentics die-cast cars, trucks, and haulers.
Special guests attending the ribbon-cutting celebration include Hitchcock; Jeff Gregg, Metro Council District 15; Terri Williams-Nutter, Executive Director of the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce (DHCC); Tammy Henry, President-Elect of the DHCC; Jad Murphy, Opry Mills General Manager; Gerald Adams, Lionel Director of Retail Sales Operations; Brett Morris, Lionel Nashville Store Manager; and Lenny the Lion, the Lionel mascot.
