Larson Electronics Releases Intrinsically Safe Floor Water Sensor, Zero Current, No Circuit Configuration

KEMP, Texas, January 11, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of an intrinsically safe floor water sensor that can detect water and conductive liquids in hazardous environments with resistance less than 4 meg. This device comes with a normally open circuit configuration. This unit does not consume electricity and is made of plastic with stainless-steel conductivity electrodes.
The EXP-EL-SR-IS-WS-FM intrinsically safe floor water sensor is an immersion type sensor that offers instant response during use. This device is made for the real-time detection of water/spills inside industrial facilities and hazardous work environments. This unit’s normally open circuit allows the sensor to close the circuit when detecting water or conductive liquids, which triggers an alarm (not included) or other function.
Larson Electronics’ floor water sensor features an instant response time when water is detected with response time for other liquids dependent upon the substance. This unit requires a compatible customer-provided liquid monitor to complete the system. The unit does not consume electricity during operation (zero current) and can operate below its operating temperature range as long as the liquid does not thicken or solidify.
This unit is compatible with 2-conductor wiring and can be floor mounted or mounted to a wall that is close to the floor. Suitable applications include hazardous work environments, combustible and flammable sites for flood/spill detection and protection in storage rooms and more.
