Kleinfelder Employee Receives Guy Kelcey Award From ARTBA
Online, September 27, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Kleinfelder, a global science, architecture and engineering consulting firm, is pleased to announce that national transportation market director Larry Peterson, P.E., received the 2012 Guy Kelcey Award from the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). The award was presented Sept. 12 during the association's national convention in Memphis, Tenn.
Named after one of the ARTBA Planning & Design (P & D) Division organizers, the annual Guy Kelcey Award recognizes an ARTBA member who has exhibited a high degree of service to the P & D Division.
Peterson has served as ARTBA P & D president for the past year. Due to the changing environment in alternative delivery projects, he has worked during his presidency to foster cooperation, communication and understanding among the A/E firms of the P & D Division and the contractors of the Contractor Division. He successfully organized the first meeting between the two divisions, an event that will continue at future ARTBA conferences.
"I'm honored to receive this prestigious award," Peterson said. "It is merely a reflection of the entire P & D Division's dedication to learning about and addressing transportation industry issues."
Peterson, based in Boise, Idaho, has worked in the engineering field for more than 30 years, including the past 25 with Kleinfelder. In addition to serving as P & D Division president, he has served as a member of the P & D board of directors and its nominating committee, the ARTBA board of directors and the ARTBA executive committee. He has also served as Professional Services Committee chairman and been active within ARTBA's Western Leadership Team.
