The famous Hollywood star of films such as the Mask, Ace Ventura, The number 23, Cable Guy and many more "Jim Carrey" was in Machu Picchu last week after arriving to Cusco from Brazil. Carrey was immediately recognized by the local population as they mainly referred to him as "the Mask" . While on the Inca Citadel for his Machu Picchu tours Carrey tweeted "#Goodmornoonevening world! Machu Picchu, Temple of the sun. (sorry for this) Inca redible!" he also climbed to Huayna Picchu, the mountain adjacent to the city. Additional tweets were "Machu Picchu that is. I plan to climb to the top, say,"How day do dat?" and go home. ?;^} It appeared that the Hollywood actor enjoyed the trip and the hike.
Carrey joins such celebretities who have also visited the Inca marvel in the ranks of: Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, Leonardo Dicaprio, Adam Brody, Survivor starlet Parvati shallow and several more.
Machu Picchu is Peru's biggest attraction and it's no wonder even Hollywood stars such as Carrey or world famous business icons such as the elusive Bill Gates have come to see this wonder of the world. Additionally this July 7th will be the official 100 years since Machu Picchu was discovered by Hiram Bingham and will be offering celebrations and a main event. The event will begin July 7, the main day of the hundredth anniversary, and it will last approximately five days. The show will undoubtedly give something to talk about, with a traditional theme where there will be a flight of the condor, lights and more; all this from the highest point of Machu Picchu, this will be a presentation for 500 people who will consist of some celebrities and world press.
