Java SE 7 Pre-Launched In Kolkata Successfully

Online, July 18, 2011 (Newswire.com) - With the excitement building up ahead of the 28th July launch of Java SE 7 globally, Oracle in association with Kolkata Java User Group and eRevMax Technologies organized a pre-launch event in Kolkata today. The event provided Kolkata Java enthusiasts a sneak peek into the upcoming features and enhancements that will make Java all the more desirable and functional.

eRevMax took the initiative to organize this event and invited Java users to attend this prestigious pre-launch ceremony. The company develops software for hospitality industry and uses Java as its main programming language. Mr. Chuk Munn Lee from Oracle flew down from Singapore to be the main speaker at the event and shared interesting details about the new features and functionalities of Java SE 7.

According to Oracle, around 1.1 billion desktops run Java, with 930 million Java Runtime Environments downloaded each year. Further over the past five years, more than 200 non-Java languages such as Scala, JRuby, Jython and Groovy have been developed to run on the (JVM) Java Virtual Machine.
