International Business Times Names New Global Editor in Chief

Candappa will be based out of IBT Media’s New York City headquarters and will report directly to Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer, Johnathan Davis.

As Global Editor in Chief, Candappa will lead editorial operations of International Business Times around the world and will run the US newsroom directly. He will work closely with Davis and the editorial team to raise the brand’s visibility, journalistic excellence and authority, while also refining its voice, broadening distribution and ensuring a great experience for readers and viewers across the website’s many touchpoints including newsletters, video and social media.

He has built award-winning news teams around the world whose work was recognized with a dozen journalism prizes, including Reuters first ever Pulitzer Prize for print. Candappa managed teams as large as 800 journalists, covered and directed major stories on six continents and managed safety and logistics in war zones and disaster areas during assignments in New York, London, Singapore, Dubai and Sri Lanka.
