International Association of Women Recognizes Wendy Byford as a 2018-2019 Influencer
CHICAGO, January 8, 2019 (Newswire.com) - The International Association of Women (IAW) recognizes Wendy Byford as a 2018-2019 Influencer. She is acknowledged as a leader in entrepreneurship. The International Association of Women (IAW) is a global in-person and online networking platform with nearly one million members, 1000+ in person and virtual events, over 100 Local US-based Chapters and International Chapters in several cities in China.

Wendy Byford has held key positions in a number of companies, including Hewlett-Packard (HP), in her native Canada and, later, in the U.S. Throughout her three-decades-long career, Ms. Byford gained many skills through professional development and working in corporate America.
“After leaving HP, I took paralegal training and got an AZ Certified Legal Document Preparer certification,” she said. “This led me to build a small business doing document filings to form LLCs and corporations. From speaking with those clients came the idea of building BizEngaged, LLC.”
Realizing that entrepreneurs had many questions and few resources when they started out, Ms. Byford and her partners founded BizEngaged as a membership-based program for entrepreneurs, a place they could turn to for support and answers. “Some of the educational materials for the membership have been reworked from materials we created for our clients in a different business,” she said. “Those materials were based on the answers to a question we asked our clients, who were all new entrepreneurs: What are the 10 things you wish you had known when you got started?”
As CoFounder and President of her own startup, Ms. Byford’s main responsibility is the creative side of the business, including managing the company website and all other aspects of marketing and advertising.
“I think one of my greatest skills is focus. It’s what keeps me on track to finish things that are important,” Ms. Byford added. “For example, if you are going to start a social media campaign to drive people to your website, you need to have an offer that gives them something they really want. So, before you start pouring dollars into Facebook ads, you need to know who you are targeting, what’s important to them, what offer would cause them to exchange their name and email for it; you need to create that offer and get it up and running, complete with delivery mechanism and thank you follow up.
“Facing the challenge of entrepreneurship where you are solely responsible for a business is easier with the support of other IAW members,” Ms. Byford said. She is also rewarded whenever she hears from satisfied clients who let her know how much she and her partners have helped them. Looking toward the future, Ms. Byford is excited about growing her business. “My goal right now is to build Bizengaged, LLC into a seven-figure business and to work on it from wherever I am – not tied to a particular desk,” she said.
