Intercommunity Action (“Interact”) announces the appointment of Bryan H. Cohen as their new President and Chief Executive Officer.  He succeeds David Bolin, who is retiring after more than 40 years with Interact, including 24 years as President and CEO.  Cohen was selected from among many qualified candidates after a six-month national search.

Cohen is a licensed psychologist and has served in the Philadelphia Community Behavioral Health System for over 30 years.  He has been part of the Interact team for 23 years, where he has served as the Director of Children’s Services and most recently as Vice President for Behavioral Health.  Cohen has had leadership roles on numerous city and state committees, which have helped guide behavioral health policies and services to numerous underserved populations throughout the Commonwealth.  He possesses a master’s degree from Temple University in Psychoeducational Processes and a second master’s degree from John F. Kennedy University in Counseling Psychology.

“It is an honor and privilege to be appointed the next CEO of Interact,” Cohen says.  “I am grateful to the Interact Board of Directors for bestowing this honor upon me.  I am particularly grateful to our outgoing CEO, David Bolin, for all the knowledge and support he has given me over the years.  I look forward to building upon the work that he has done and to expand Interact’s services and profile throughout Philadelphia.  Great companies are made up of great people and I am excited about the opportunity to lead a team of dedicated, hardworking and caring professionals.”

John McGovern, Chairman of Interact’s Board of Directors, says “David Bolin’s leadership and vision created a legacy of accomplishments and his talents and compassion will be missed. Under Dave’s leadership Interact positively affected the lives of thousands of people. As a board, we conducted an extensive search and we concluded that our own Bryan Cohen was the best person to lead interact. I am confident that Bryan’s energy, background and mission driven approach will continue to allow Interact to help improve the lives of many people in the future”.
