Great New Design of Bed Guard Launched

A great new design of bed guard has been launched recently. The new bed guard is marketed under the brand name The Bed Bumper.

A new bed guard has recently entered the child safety market called The Bed Bumper.

The job of a bed guard is to inhibit a youngster (bed clothes and comforters) from slipping down onto the floor. The guard is secured down the unguarded edge of the bed and acts as a solid rail against which a toddler can safely press.

Bed guards are bought and used at a time when a kid is stepping up from sleeping in a cot with sides to a bed/cotbed without sides. The move in beds usually happens when a toddler is around its second birthday. Typical bed rails are either made of wooden slats or have a hard frame around a flexible core.

They come in a variety of colours and finishes but all work in the same way. The traditional guards all have to be put together from separate parts and they are then attached under the bed using a variety of fixings. They are cumbersome, heavy and expensive.

The Bed Bumper is a 100cm long firm foam wedge which sits directly onto the mattress. The bed sheets are then put back onto the bed and the bed is made up as normal with the bumper under the sheets. The bumper will not move around as it is held in place by the sheets and by the fact that the cotton mattress and sheets 'stick' to the foam.

No assembly is required, no screws and clamps, no hard metal, plastic or wood and, most importantly, no chance of entrapment. The foam is pale yellow and sits discreetly under the sheets with no show through. The Bed Bumper is available in a variety of lengths and therefore is suitable for all types of beds, including cot beds, and all ages of children. It is so light it can easily be taken out of the home and used on airbeds as easily as a normal bed at Grannies house.

The Bed Bumper is simple to bend and compress into any luggage and won't add any noticeable extra load. The safety of all bed guards is carefully controlled according to the UK Safety Standard for bed guards :BS 7972.
