GoldKey USB Smart Card Completes Windows 7 Compatibility Testing

GoldKey® USB Smart Card Seamlessly Integrates with Windows 7 Security Features

For Immediate Release

Independence, MO - May 26, 2010 - GoldKey Security Corporation today announced that its USB Smart Card has passed the Microsoft Windows 7 Logo Testing. GoldKey allows users to add multi-factor authentication to Windows 7 BitLocker Drive Encryption and Windows 7 user account log-in. In addition, GoldKey's USB Smart Card may be integrated with PKI security applications, such as Active Directory and VPN authentication.

Once the smart card function of GoldKey has been initialized and configured, GoldKey may be used for authentication on Windows 7 systems without installing any software, drivers, or middleware. This feature is especially important in secure applications where it is not possible to install outside software on a computer.

GoldKey's USB Smart Card eliminates the need for an external smart card reader and introduces performance gains over traditional smart cards for log-in authentication and document signing. GoldKey does not require an internal battery for power and features a rugged, water-tight design - making it one of the most durable smart card tokens on the market.

GoldKey's smart card utilizes the PIV (Personal Identity Verification) specification developed by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). PIV is widely deployed in government and is now supported by Mac OS X and Windows 7. GoldKey's USB Smart Card may be deployed within Windows XP & Vista through the use of middleware.
