Fred Meyer Jewelers Introduces Lifetime Jewelry Care Plan
Online, November 25, 2009 (Newswire.com) - PORTLAND, Nov. 25 -- Fred Meyer Jewelers, one of the nation's largest jewelry retailers, has launched a lifetime jewelry care plan that enables consumers to maintain and repair covered fine jewelry at no charge for life.
The Lifetime Jewelry Care Plan is being introduced in all Fred Meyer stores just in time for holiday shopping. Jewelry is covered under the plan as long as it is owned by the original purchaser or gift recipient.
Fred Meyer understands that fine jewelry requires care and maintenance from time to time, as well as occasional repairs. The Lifetime Jewelry Care Plan is designed to provide for all needs, including polishing, refinishing, pearl restringing and other services to maintain the beauty of each piece.
"We understand the value each Fred Meyer Jewelers treasure holds for our Customers" said Peter Engel, President of Fred Meyer Jewelers. "The Lifetime Jewelry Care Plan ensures worry free ownership and a lifetime of lasting enjoyment."
No additional fees are charged beyond the initial cost of the plan. If a jewelry item cannot be repaired, it will be replaced. To request service, consumers may return covered items to the store where they were purchased or call a toll-free number to arrange for shipment to a service provider. The cost ranges from $17.99 up to $299.99, depending on the price of the jewelry item.
In addition to the Lifetime Jewelry Care Plan, Fred Meyer is also introducing a two-year Watch Protection Plan. This plan provides protection on all watch components, including cases, bands, straps, clasps, hands and dials against defects and normal wear and tear that affect the function of the timepiece.
Both Fred Meyer plans are backed by insurance companies affiliated with Assurant Solutions, part of Assurant, a premier provider of specialty insurance products throughout North America.
