Online, October 25, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The law firm of Fergeson, Skipper, Shaw, Keyser, Baron & Tirabassi, P.A., is celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year. In September 1976, James (Jay) O. Fergeson, Jr., opened his "boutique" law firm in Downtown Sarasota that specialized exclusively in the areas of federal and state taxation, wills, trusts and estates.
In 1978, J. Ronald Skipper, a specialist in wills, trusts and estates, joined Fegerson. Civil trial attorney Andrew Shaw joined the practice in 1979, which marked the beginning of the company's expansion to become a full service law firm. In 1984, trial attorney David J. Baron and real estate attorneys Stephen B. Keyser and E. Ralph Tirabassi merged their law practice into the firm, resulting in Fergeson, Skipper, Shaw, Keyser, Baron & Tirabassi, P.A. Later, Douglas R. Bald, Richard R. Gans, David S. Maglich, and Matthew B. Mayper joined the group. The firm also has three associate attorneys, J. Allison Archbold, Brendan A. McQuaid, and Michelle Lajoie Hermey. Attorneys Shaw, Keyser and Baron have retired but still provide their expertise for special cases.
Today the practice is located on the tenth floor of the Northern Trust building in Downtown Sarasota and has a staff of forty. As a full service law firm whose attorneys are all members of The Florida Bar, the practice provides legal counsel for taxation, wills, trusts and estates, business organization and corporate law, real estate law, and litigation.
