Eye Ride Foundation Changes Lives of the Visually Impaired

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., December 16, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Sophia Liporace was born with Congenital Nystagmus, a condition that creates uncorrectable visual impairment. At age 13, Sophia founded Eye Ride Foundation, a non-profit organization, to promote independence in the visually impaired by supporting their transportation needs. 

Sophia, now a 15-year-old sophomore at the Benjamin School, has put her plan into action. Recently, Eye Ride Foundation provided funding to William Johnson, a college student from Massachusetts, to help him attend classes. 

Most recently, Eye Ride Foundation provided funds to help 80-year-old Charlotte Dupre of Tequesta, Florida, seek the medical attention she needs to prevent total blindness. Charlotte needs to see her doctor every three weeks for treatment and there are no free transportation services in her area. Now, with funding from Eye Ride Foundation, Charlotte will be able to arrange private transportation to each visit.
