Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside LLP Welcomes Two New Partners to the Firm
LOS ANGELES, February 27, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside LLP has added, as partners in its corporate department, Joel J. Berman and Robert M. Steinberg. Messrs. Berman and Steinberg moved to Elkins Kalt from Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (Jeffer Mangels).
Mr. Berman assists clients in preparing for, implementing and completing sales and other capital events, such as equity capital raises and debt borrowings. He is a specialist in secured transactions with an emphasis on asset-based lending, creditors' remedies and loan workouts, and has extensive experience in structuring and implementing mergers and acquisitions; negotiating stock and asset acquisitions; structuring and documenting all elements of financial transactions; and exercising all forms of creditor's remedies. In addition to his transactional experience, Mr. Berman has extensive experience in conducting and supervising commercial litigation in the state and bankruptcy courts. At Jeffer Mangels, Mr. Berman was Vice Chair of the Corporate Department, Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, Co-Chair of the Lateral Hiring Committee, and a member of the Management Committee. Mr. Berman received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and A.B. from Harvard College.
Mr. Steinberg's expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, equity/debt financings and private placements, restructurings, as well as general outside counsel to early stage and established middle-market companies. Mr. Steinberg also has extensive experience in securities law, including assisting publicly-traded companies and their executives on SEC compliance, corporate governance, securities offerings, and compensation and incentive plans. Mr. Steinberg served as a member of Jeffer Mangels' Management Committee and as co-Chair of its Mergers and Acquisitions group. Mr. Steinberg received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and A.B. from Harvard College.
