Dr. Lu Nelson, a Southern California-based professional psychotherapist, has joined the team at Safe Harbor Treatment Center for Women, a nationally recognized Women's Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facility in Southern California, as their Director of Art Therapy.

Safe Harbor Treatment Center for Women is designed for the specific and unique needs of women in the grips of drug and alcohol addiction, and dual diagnosis. Safe Harbor's atmosphere of love and acceptance supports each client, allowing them to break through the barriers which have kept them trapped in an abusive, addicted cycle.

Dr. Nelson brings her expertise and experience with Art Therapy to Safe Harbor. Her program helps women conquer their fears and focus on going forward with happy, productive lives. Dr. Lu Nelson states, "My private practice is centered around individual, marriage and family therapy, but aiding women who are victims of domestic violence or substance abuse has always been near and dear to my heart. Art Therapy is one of the important tools that help the residents of Safe Harbor get their lives back. I'm proud to be a part of that."
