DirectRooms.com - Caddie Shack Golf Tournament To Take Place In Boracay In September

Golfers will be testing their skill in an annual tournament on the Filipino island of Boracay, reports DirectRooms.com

The Caddie Shack Golf Tournament is held every year and is open to both amateur and professional golfers who can challenge for the competition's cash prizes.

Named after the popular golfing film "Caddyshack" staring Chevy Chase and Bill Murray, the competition is being held inside the premises of Boracay's Fairways and Bluewater Resort and Country Club.

Competitors will be teeing off from the tropical island's stunning course that incorporates rolling hills overlooking the sea. Spectators and players will also be afforded views of some of the island's world famous beaches.

While playing the 18 hole, par 72 course, contestants should try to avoid some of the natural water and rock features that are spread out along the 6,600 yards of fairways.

Running for a week from Thursday 9th September until 15th September 2010, the tournament sees a host of players taking part including participants flying in from the neighbouring regions of Cebu and Manila. The competition represents one of the key events in Boracay during September and as such visitors looking for cheap Boracay hotels may find demand for rooms higher than usual.

To give players equal opportunities for the prize money, the competition will be divided into two divisions for amateurs and professionals. Golfers looking to take part in the event should register with the tournament hosts and check what the participation fee as it does vary from year to year.
