Cruises Strike Will Not Go Ahead - Statement From City Cruises

City Cruises received notification that the company's boat crew had joined the RMT at the end of last week and was planning to take industrial action from 7am - 8pm on August 27th, Friday 4th September and Saturday 5th September.

“Following an initial meeting with the RMT yesterday, we are pleased to announce that the strike on the 27th August has been cancelled. Following this meeting, we are waiting to hear the RMT’s exact demands in order to begin negotiations ahead of the further planned strikes in September. “

“We want to make it clear that our door is open and we are keen to negotiate, once we fully understand the exact demands of the RMT.

“As a result of the intended strikes the majority of our pre-booked dinner services have been cancelled, however our London Showboat and Elvis Dinner Cruise will be operating.

We have however, notified our customers as soon as possible of the impact on their plans and have done our very best to accommodate them by rescheduling to another date or by providing a refund.

Unfortunately, given the last minute nature of the strike cancellation, will not be able to reinstate all our dinner-cruises services. Our sightseeing cruises service will, however run as normal. “

“As a small, family-owned business we are very disappointed to have let our customers down due to circumstances outside of our control. We are doing everything we can to resolve this issue and are hopeful for a positive outcome once we are receive the exact demands of the RMT.”
