CommonPlaces CEO Ben Bassi to Present Drupal Multi-Site Technology at CMS Expo

Ben Bassi, President and CEO of CommonPlaces e-Solutions, will share CommonPlaces' Drupal Multi-Site Knowledge at CMS Expo in Chicago.

Ben Bassi, President and CEO of CommonPlaces e-Solutions, LLC, has been asked to speak at CMS Expo on the subject of Drupal Multi-Site solutions. CMS Expo is a three-day conference based on content management systems and the solutions they can deliver to businesses and organizations. This year's conference is May 3rd, 4th, and 5th, in Evanston, Illinois, and will feature a Drupal Track of sessions.

A "multi-site" is defined as multiple, separate websites built on the same foundation of code. Drupal Multi-Site technology, the subject of Bassi's talk, provides the means to build multi-sites using a single Drupal CMS platform. This can literally cut development and maintenance costs in half, and speed up time-to-market for your multiple websites. Multi-site can also facilitate unique functionality, like shared member profiles across sites, or cross-site searching.

"If your organization needs multiple websites to accomplish your goals, multi-site technology can deliver huge savings in ongoing development and maintenance costs," said Bassi. "When I talk to people about this technology, they get really excited about the possibilities. I'm looking forward to presenting on this topic at CMS Expo, and speaking with people on a personal level about what multi-site can do."

Ben Bassi has been at the forefront of online innovation for almost two decades. He was intimately involved with the development of some of the first Social Networks, including SixDegrees, and the Firefly Network. While working with YouthStream Media, he managed the development and sale of the patents that now drive LinkedIn.com. As one of the first business executives of Lycos, Bassi managed strategic relationships and joint development with third-parties such as Bertelsmann, Viacom, Microsoft, and Netscape.
