Collex Collision Experts Extend Their Wheels Of Hope Program And Those In Need Continue To Be Blessed.
Online, May 17, 2010 (Newswire.com) - DETROIT, MI - May 17, 2010 - Collex Collision Experts owns more collision center repair locations than any other company in the metropolitan Detroit area. Collex Collision is unique though; despite size, growth and success, Collex Collision continues to expand its commitments to the local community. Collex Collision Experts is once again funding its Wheels Of Hope benevolence car program. While 2010 continues to throw challenges at small business, Collex Collision Experts knows that the needs this year are greater than ever.
The women benefiting from this program also receive free car insurance for one year, approximately $1,000 for gas money, road service and vehicle maintenance training. Collex Collision Experts began Wheels of HOPE in Michigan four years ago and later introduced it in Florida where they have another Collex Collision Experts location. 2010 will be the fourth year that the program will be offered in Florida. Wheels of HOPE is a charity program that provides help to help families that need to "get on the road to a brighter future."
Last year in Florida, Collex Collision Experts partnered with One by One Leadership, the Naples Shelter for Abused Women and the Traffic Safety Association to identify individuals who were in need of reliable transportation. "Collex Collision Experts is committed to find little ways to give back to the community," said Julie Gagliano, community relations director of Collex Collision Experts. "We feel that it is a good thing to help others and give back to the community."
The employees of Collex Collision Experts fix everything that is wrong with the vehicles on their own free time to make them look brand new. "Our employees love it and they all get involved and take a lot of pride in their work," Gagliano continued. "They do a very nice job and they treat it like it is a regular job coming through."
In 2009, Collex Collision Experts provided two vehicles that were donated through the program including a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van and a 2006 Hyundai Elantra. Collex Collision Experts sees Wheels of HOPE as a community project, and Collex Collision employees know that without the community donating vehicles and businesses donating money, Collex Collision Experts would not be able to host the program. Collex Collision Centers appreciates the other businesses that donate parts for the vehicles to make them look and run new. The big donation last year was a new engine for the van.
Collex Collision Experts has a committee of 10 people that review requests. Stories and facts collected from local nonprofit organizations are researched and confirmed to find single parents who are in need of a vehicle.
The committee chooses the top three candidates, which the management of Collex Collision Centers then interviews, picking the two who are the most deserving. In order to be selected for the program, an applicant must be a single parent who is working or going to school, does not own a vehicle, has a good driving record and no criminal record.
Each year as the cars are awarded, a celebration is held and employees, donors, families and the winners are invited. Winners drive their new vehicles home, employees of Collex Collision Experts are blessed by blessing someone else, and in the process this local Detroit company is living their commitment to going to the entire world with the good news of Jesus. The company's values shine through the event. In helping "widows and orphans", those needy among us, Collex Collision Experts is living out what those of Christian faith are called to do; love thy neighbor.
